Due to the severe weather, Manchester has emergency arrangements in place for people who are currently sleeping rough in the city. A multi-agency support hub is operating at the Booth Centre between 9.00am – 3.00pm from Friday 30th January.
Outside office hours the contact number for all homeless people, including rough sleepers is 0161 234 5001. Rough sleepers should be directed to the Booth Centre where they will get a warm welcome, hot food and drink and will be found emergency accommodation. The severe cold weather arrangements take place whenever the temperature is forecast to fall below 0 for 3 consecutive nights. Its aims are to ensure that no one dies on the streets due extreme weather and to make every effort to engage with people who are accommodated so that they do not return to the streets at its end.
