Cafe & Wellbeing Centre

The Booth Centre welcomes anyone who is homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our Cafe and Wellbeing Centre is open five days a week, offering people who get involved with our sessions the chance to come in and eat a free healthy breakfast and lunch in a sociable environment. It's also an opportunity to pick up essential toiletries, talk to trained staff and volunteers and to find out more about everything the Centre has to offer, including our Supported Volunteering Programme.

The Cafe is a vital part of the centre, helping people who need support to meet in a warm, friendly, relaxed and safe environment. Aside from providing direct practical support, this helps enormously in combating the sense of social isolation that people can feel.

Supported volunteering programme

We serve a healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch from our fantastic, fully equipped catering kitchen. Not only does this have a direct benefit for the people who visit the Centre, in allowing them to eat a nutritious meal - it also provides an opportunity for people to volunteer in the kitchen, enabling them to gain practical work-based skills and to gain a food safety qualification. From this we support people to move on to further training, voluntary work or employment in the catering industry. Through our supported volunteering programme people can gain experience in different areas of the Centre whilst receiving one-to-one mentoring and advice to achieve their personal goals.

Our kitchen has consistently been awarded a 5* food hygiene rating, which is a tremendous achievement and a real testament to the hard work of the staff and volunteers who provide this invaluable service.
