LISTEN UP Exhibition

The Booth Centre runs arts sessions every day Monday-Friday, working towards positive outcomes and producing spectacular work from all the artists involved. Our Arts Committee design the projects as a group, every decision is made together and all voices are acknowledged.
LISTEN UP is a project of expression, celebration and pride. Inspired by the bicentenary of Peterloo the Arts Committee explored the themes of protest and the importance of raising our voices and being heard. For hundreds of years banners have been used by political movements to identify their cause and aspirations. Banners have been a vehicle throughout history for people’s voices to be heard and we wanted to continue this tradition. The artists have created banners to express their ideas, desires and hope for a different tomorrow.
Exhibition dates: 30th August – 1st November 2019
Venue: People’s History Museum, Left Bank, Manchester, M3 3ER
