Many people who come to the Booth Centre have a variety of complex needs, sometimes this is what has lead to them becoming homeless in the first place and often the problems have got worse while they are on the streets and make it more complicated for them to get re-housed. We have been funded by the Manchester Drug and Alcohol Action Team to employ a Dual Diagnosis Worker to provide extra support to help people with alcohol, drug and mental health problems. We are able to help people to access treatment, to engage in our Activities Programme and find stable, suitable accommodation. This project has been a huge success in supporting some very entrenched rough sleepers to come off the streets and successfully resettle in the community.
